Miofoam® Edge insulation strips FK8 are made of closed-cell unvarnished, CFC- and HCFC-free polyethylene foam.

By applying edge insulation strips in combination with, for example, Miofoam® V25-5, Miofol® AVS 4 or Miofol® VS 2, the screed is decoupled from the structural wall. Miofoam® edge strips are used to decouple concrete screeds along walls and columns. This absorbs floor action and greatly reduces noise transmission. For underfloor heating, 8 mm minimum is recommended.
To reduce impact noise and flanking sound transmission to surrounding rooms, edge insulation strips S or FK are placed against the walls and around the floor penetrations in conjunction with acoustic decoupling of the floor. Make sure the connection between the floor and the wall is leveled. Any excess material can be easily cut away after the floor cures.
