Miofol 210AG

Miofol® 210AG is a micro-perforated insulating and reinforced technical construction membrane. The water-repellent and permeable facade membrane has been reinforced using polypropylene webbing, which has been placed between 2 aluminium layers. One aluminium side is coated with UV-stabilised LDPE, which means it can resist the negative effects of alkaline. The aluminium surfaces reflect radiation and thus help to insulate on both sides. The unique micro-perforations, and the density of these perforations, ensure the best possible water-resistance in this category, while retaining high permeability.

Applications

Miofol® 210AG is used on the outside of facades (cold side) as water-repellent and permeable layer. Miofol® 210AG can be used behind brick facades as well as closed facade panels. The aluminium layers, in combination with the cavity in the facade, help to improve the level of insulation. The water-repellent membrane protects the construction and ensures effective insulation and moisture control.

Processing

Miofol® 210AG is micro-perforated and must thus be placed away from hard surfaces. For example, in facades with a soft surface, like mineral wool, the membrane can be placed directly against the soft surface. The coated aluminium side of the membrane must be placed so it faces the outer cavity. Maintain a cavity of 20 mm to 40 mm on both sides for the best possible heat resistance. Miofol® 210AG must be placed in the same way as roof tiles. Keep an overlap of minimum 150 mm and maximum 200 mm. Use staples to attach Miofol® 210AG to the construction. Use VAST-R® Aluminium tape basic to tape over staples and overlaps. Use VAST-R® Butyl tape and/or Tyvek® FlexWrap tape to make openings and joints wind- and watertight. VAST-R® Butyl tape must be placed under the battens to create an effective water barrier, and to extend the lifespan.
