Miotex Fassade

Miotex® Fassade is a watertight breathable membrane, which consists of two layers of polypropylene with a functional micro-porous membrane in between. The membrane has been specially developed as protective, permeable and waterproof membrane for roof tiles that do not offer complete protection (e.g., traditional Dutch roof tiles). Miotex® Fassade has passed the 5000-hour test for UV load and artificial aging. Miotex ® Fassade is also available with an integrated adhesive strip: Miotex® Fassade plus.

Applications

Miotex® Fassade is used as a water-proof and breathable UV-resistant layer on the cold side of facades and roofs. Miotex® Fassade can be applied directly to both hard and soft surfaces in facades.

Processing

Miotex® Fassade is used on the cold side of constructions. The membrane should be placed in the same way as roof tiles, whereby the overlap must be minimum 150 mm and maximum 200 mm. When used together with facade panels, battens must cover the staples on jamb sections. When working around corners, the membrane must be continued to the next jamb section, where it can be fixed in place using staples and a batten. Miotex® Fassade must be placed so the black side faces outwards. VAST-R® Butyl tape must be placed under the battens to create an effective water barrier, and to extend the lifespan.
