Polytex® 145 AG is a water-repellent and breathable non-woven membrane that features an aluminium top layer. The aluminium side has extra low emissivity, which means 97% of all infra-red radiation is reflected. Polytex® 145 AG is thus a completely watertight non-woven membrane which offers breathable protection to constructions while considerably improving insulation.
Polytex® 145 AG is used as a water-repelling and breathable membrane in facade and roof constructions. The membrane is used on the cold side of the construction. Polytex® 145 AG can be applied behind brickwork and closed-facade finishes. The reflective layer works best in poorly ventilated facades because they always feature an air cavity. Polytex® 145 AG can be applied directly against hard or soft surfaces. When Polytex® 145 AG is placed on roofs, its reflective properties only help to reduce heat build-up during the summer. In this case it is not possible to use a higher insulation score because the area under roof coverings is ventilated very effectively. Polytex® 145 AG protects the construction and ensures ideal insulation and moisture control.
Polytex® 145 AG can be applied directly against hard and soft surfaces.
The membrane should be applied so its printed surface faces the facade finish. Maintain a cavity of 20 to 40 mm for the best possible heat resistance. Apply Polytex® 145 AG in the same way as roof tiles. Keep an overlap of minimum 150 mm and maximum 200 mm. Use staples to attach Polytex® 145 AG to the construction. Use VAST-R® Aluminium tape basic to tape over staples and overlaps. Use VAST-R® Butyl tape and/or Tyvek® FlexWrap tape to make openings and joints wind- and watertight. VAST-R® Butyl tape must be placed under battens to create an effective water barrier, and to extend the lifespan.
