Applications
Polytex® Fassade FR can resist partial UV loads, like those encountered in louvred facades or other open exterior facades. The membrane is also suitable as watertight and breathable roof membrane under roof tiles that do not offer complete protection (e.g., traditional Dutch roof tiles).
Processing
Polytex® Fassade FR must be placed on the outside (cold side) of the insulation layer. The surface area of openings in exterior facades cannot exceed 20% of the total facade surface area, and each opening cannot be wider (or higher) than 20 mm. Always use stainless steel staples to attach Polytex® Fassade FR. Always attach Polytex® Fassade FR to slats. Space between slats: c.t.c. 300 mm vertical, c.t.c. 600 mm horizontal. Maintain an air cavity of minimum 20 mm between the facade finish and the Polytex® Fassade FR. Allow the Polytex® Fassade FR to extend past the last slat by a minimum of 100 mm and use VAST-R® Facade tape to tape to the underlying construction. VAST-R® Butyl tape must be placed under the battens to create an effective water barrier, and to extend the lifespan. Finish off facade openings and recesses using VAST-R® Facade tape.
