TAFTEX® EX-210 Facade is a moisture-repellent and breathable membrane. The membrane has been specially developed as protective membrane for partially open facades. Maximum opening of 20 mm between facade components or 20% open facade. TAFTEX® EX-210 Facade has a fire rating of B-s1 d0.
TAFTEX® EX-210 Facade is a breathable and water-repellent membrane that can be used to protect the insulation layer and construction behind partly open exterior facades. TAFTEX® EX-210 Facade can resist partial UV loads, like those encountered in louvred facades or other open exterior facades. The membrane is also suitable as water-repellent and breathable roof membrane under roof tiles that do not offer complete protection (e.g., traditional Dutch roof tiles).
Openings of 20 mm or 20% are permitted in facades with open joints. Maintain an air cavity with a minimum of 20 mm between the facade finish and the TAFTEX® EX-210. TAFTEX® EX-210 should be placed like roof tiles in roof and facade constructions, with overlaps of minimum 150 mm and maximum 200 mm. When used together with facade panels, battens must cover the staples on jamb sections. When working around corners, the membrane must be continued to the next jamb section, where it can be fixed in place with a batten. TAFTEX® EX-210 must be placed so the black side faces outwards. VAST-R® Butyl tape must be placed under the battens to create an effective water barrier, and to extend the lifespan. Use TAFTEX® Facade tape to finish off facade openings and recesses.
