Tyvek® Typrotec (plus) is a water-repellent and extremely breathable 2-layer non-woven membrane, which is made of HDPE and PP Typar® and is based on Tyvek® DuPont technology. The membrane is flexible, not easily torn by nails and is easy to place. The functional Tyvek® Typrotec (plus) is highly resistant to different temperatures. The Tyvek® Typrotec (plus) features an integrated adhesive strip, which means Tyvek® tape is not needed for the overlaps.
Tyvek® Typrotec (plus) is used as a watertight and extremely breathable layer on the cold side of roof constructions. This membrane is completely watertight and can thus also be applied directly to hard surfaces (like roof boarding). Tyvek® Typrotec (plus) is used during new-build projects as well as renovation activities.
Tyvek® Typrotec (plus) must be placed in the same way as roof tiles, whereby the horizontal overlap must be at least 150 mm. Use Tyvek® tape to tape over staples and overlaps. Tyvek® Typrotec (plus) is fixed to constructions using stainless steel staples, and battens are then placed over the staples. VAST-R® Nail-proof tape must be placed under the battens to make sure that the holes produced by screws have a watertight finish. Always apply Tyvek® Typrotec (plus) so the printed side faces outwards.
