Alkreflex® 2.5 is a multi-layer insulating membrane, which is suitable for wall and roof application. Alkreflex® 2.5 consists of a core of high density wool sealed by two vapour barrier reflective membranes. Alkreflex® 2.5 contributes, through reflection of thermal radiation (infrared) in combination with the core insulation, to the overall thermal resistance of the structure. The multilayer insulation blanket contains no stitching, preventing air or moisture leaks.

Alkreflex® 2.5 is used as an insulating vapour barrier in roof, wall and floor constructions. In roof structures, the multi-membrane can be used on the inside. When used in wall constructions, the multi-membrane can be used in a variety of ways: in renovation as insulation in a pre-wall, as additional insulation, thermal bridge interruption and on the cold side of a masonry or concrete inner sheet. In the case of floors, insulation is installed in the crawl space with a cavity, underneath the floor. For optimal reflection, it is recommended to keep an air cavity of 20 mm on both sides. Alkreflex® 2.5 can be used in both new build and renovation work.
Alkreflex® 2.5 must be installed horizontally with a minimum overlap of 50 mm. Tape the overlaps along the entire length with VASTR® Aluminium tape basic for an air and vapour tight finish. The material should be fastened with battens. For optimal reflection, an air cavity of 20 mm on both sides is recommended. When Alkreflex® 2.5 is cut to size, always close the outer layers around the core using tape.
