Alkreflex® 2L-2 is composed of two layers of Air cushion membrane, finished with a layer of coated pure aluminium on both sides. Combined with a 20 mm air cavity on both sides, Alkreflex® 2L-2 provides optimum insulation value by reflecting radiant heat. The additional coating protects the aluminium from corrosion in alkaline environments (masonry, cement and concrete).

Alkreflex® 2L-2 is used as vapour barrier insulation in (cavity) walls, floors, on the warm side (usually the inside) of roofs, industrial buildings such as warehouses, units, containers and caravan construction. Alkreflex® 2L-2 is ideally suited for crawl space insulation. Due to the favorable heat flow direction, a high Rc value is achieved.
Alkreflex® 2L-2 should be used in combination with two layers of air (cavity) of at least 20 mm for optimum insulation in order to utilise the maximum insulating effect. In exterior walls, the outer air layer should be weakly ventilated. As roof insulation, we recommend Alkreflex® 2L-2 only on the inside of the roof. In this way, it has a double function: insulating and as a vapour barrier. Finish seams and overlaps with VASTR® Aluminium tape basic. As floor insulation, Alkreflex® 2L-2 is fixed to the underside against the wooden floor joists with light ventilation parallel to the joists. For application under concrete-like floors, Alkreflex® 2L-2 must be used with a minimum 20 mm layer of air between the insulation and the floor.
