Polytex® Fassade A2 is a glass fibre fabric with a vapour-open and waterproof coating, designed to protect the insulation layer and the supporting structure behind a partially open façade system. The membrane provides maximum safety for high-rise façades and multi-storey and/or large buildings where higher fire safety requirements apply. Polytex® Fassade A2 has a fire classification of A2-s1, d0.

Polytex® Fassade A2 is resistant to partial UV exposure, as may occur with louvre faades or other partially open façade constructions. Polytex® Fassade A2 must be installed with a maximum open joint width of 20 mm and meets fire classification A2-s1, d0, making the membrane unique in its category.
Polytex® Fassade A2 must be installed on the outside (cold side) of the insulation layer. The total surface area of openings in the external façade must not exceed 20% of the façade surface, with each individual opening not exceeding 20 mm in width or height. Polytex® Fassade A2 must always be mechanically fixed using stainless steel staples, with battens spaced centre-to-centre at 300 mm vertically and 600 mm horizontally. A minimum ventilation cavity of 20 mm must be maintained between the façade cladding and Polytex® Fassade A2. The membrane must extend at least 100 mm beyond the bottom batten and be sealed to the underlying structure using VASTR® Facade Tape. For optimal watertightness and long-term durability, VASTR® Butyl Tape must be applied between the battens and Polytex® Fassade A2. All façade openings and penetrations must be sealed using VASTR® Facade Tape.
