The importance of
airtight construction
To meet the high requirements for energy performance of buildings, it is important to build airtight. A wall or roof in a building is a combination of a structural part and one or more layers of insulation, covered with a finish. If not sealed properly, warm air and moisture can migrate through the structure and roof insulation or wall insulation. It is important that overlaps, cracks and connections are properly taped with VASTR® tape. When this is not the case, energy loss and condensation can occur, reducing the insulation value.
Prevent wood rot and mold
Moisture in the insulation and in the rest of the structure causes mold and wood rot. This creates an unhealthy indoor environment.
