Tyvek Pro

Tyvek® Pro is a water-repellent and extremely breathable 2-layer non-woven membrane, which is made of HDPE and polypropylene and is based on Tyvek® DuPont technology. The membrane is flexible, not easily torn by nails and is easy to place. The functional Tyvek® layer means Tyvek® Pro (plus) is highly resistant to different temperatures. The Tyvek® Pro plus features an integrated adhesive strip, which means Tyvek® tape is not needed for the overlaps.

Applications

Tyvek® Pro (plus) is used as a watertight and extremely breathable layer on the cold side of facade and roof constructions. This membrane is completely watertight and can thus also be applied directly to hard surfaces (like roof boarding). Tyvek® Pro (plus) is used during new-build projects as well as renovation activities.

Processing

Tyvek® Pro (plus) should be placed in the same way as roof tiles, whereby the horizontal overlap must be at least 150 mm. Use Tyvek® tape to tape over staples and overlaps. Tyvek® Pro (plus) is fixed to constructions using stainless steel staples, and (counter) battens are then placed over the staples. VAST-R® Nail-proof tape must be placed under the (counter) battens to make sure that the holes produced by screws have a watertight finish. Always apply Tyvek® Pro (plus) so the printed side faces outwards. When used together with facade panels, battens must cover the staples on jamb sections. When working around corners, the membrane must be continued to the next jamb section, where it can be fixed in place using staples and possibly a batten. VAST-R® Butyl tape must be placed under the battens to create an effective water barrier, and to extend the lifespan.
