For optimal protection of the structure, the Vapour control membrane should always be placed on the inside of the structure and the Vapour open layer on the outside of the insulation. TAFTEX® vapor control and vapor tight Construction membranes prevent moisture from entering the insulation from inside. TAFTEX® waterproof and Breathable membranes ensure that any moisture that does find its way into the insulation is quickly drained to the outside while keeping out rain and snow.

Proper choice
The TAFTEX® range offers an appropriate solution for every kind of construction. The standard procedure involves using TAFTEX® IN-100 on the inside. This is a vapour control insulation membrane that is sufficient in most cases. In a more
humid room such as a bathroom or sauna, the IN-150 is the ideal vapour barrier. On the cold outer side of the insulation, a waterproof, breathable membrane is essential, TAFTEX® EX-130 or EX-150 being the most suitable.
In the case of a partially open facade or when roof tiles are not fully closed, it is important that the membrane is also UV resistant. TAFTEX® EX-210 has been developed especially for these cases, which is resistant to UV exposure.
